if you're going to get these shoes, it's good to get a crazy color.
orange is popular here (the college kid crowd seems fond of them too). i think maybe because UVA's colors are orange and navy. and because after buying everything pink in sight for the last 2 years i think girls my age are finally wearying of it.
I think they float, Jessica; they're pretty light. But I hadn't thought abt. the preppie quotient (I went to VA Tech -- you know, the place all the UVA undergrads make jokes about) -- of all the godawful fashion trends down here, prep isn't one of them. (Once overheard a shoe clerk telling a customer that "gold is a *neutral*, dearie...")
Josh -- P. wants pink, & has decided that D. will have white. And Mommie will have blue. Go figure.

Well, apparently for some reason they don't manufacture men's size 11 in the pink, so I had to settle for the pseudo-neon orange...
