Well, maybe not all that new – ordered in NYC before our trip to Sweden, picked up on the way back to Florida. Dutch. My protest against the ubiquitous clunky square frames that would probably look better on my Karl Rove-ishly round features.
tres chic...glamorously anachronistic...cool photo too.
eyeglass design is in a "bad phase."
is comparing oneself to Rove the 21st century analogue to the 19th century tendency to self-flagellate a la Swinburne (or was that G.M. Hopkins? both?)
All my life I wanted a pair of 'John Lennon' glasses and about 12 years ago I finally got a pair with heavy tints and I loved them. I'm not sure they really suited my face and I've since gone back to my usual rectangular style (beside I need tri-focals these days) but I did love those round glasses. Yours look very cool indeed. I would have jumped at them.
I hate shopping for glasses and I concur, "eyeglass design is in a 'bad phase'."
I'm in the middle of it and I now have to bear in mind that I'm shopping for bifocals. Two shops and thirty pair took up half of my Saturday afternoon. And no decision yet. It probably won't get made 'til the end of the semester!
Enjoy your sight through your fine new frames and flawless new lenses.

Very cool! (Though, no teeny Lennon face on these, I assume)
